Dear Friends, Colleagues and Supporters of the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Community,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to join the 20th International Symposium on Pediatric Neuro-Oncology, ISPNO 2022 from 12 – 15 June 2022, and the Annual Meeting of the Brain Tumor Group of SIOP Europe (SIOPE-BTG) in Hamburg, Germany, from 11 – 12 June 2022.
ISPNO is by far the largest international scientific meeting of multidisciplinary professionals in research, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of children and adolescents with tumors of the Central Nervous System. Since its first edition in 1986, ISPNO has enjoyed consistent growth as a bi-annual meeting. ISPNO 2022 will be the first ISPNO Meeting to be held in Germany.
ISPNO 2022 will be co-hosted by the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf with its Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology being one of the largest units of its kind in Germany, and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) Heidelberg, the largest biomedical research institute in Germany, which, together with Heidelberg University Hospital, serves as mother institution for the Hopp Children´s Cancer Center (KiTZ) Heidelberg.
The nationwide multi-disciplinary ‘Treatment Network HIT’ was founded 20 years ago to optimize diagnostic assessments, multimodal treatment concepts, and research for children with CNS tumors. Together with the international organizing committee, the cooperative research groups of the HIT-network will build a scientific program for ISPNO 2022 covering all areas related to Pediatric Neurooncology. The program will include the most recent cutting-edge preclinical and clinical research from the fields of neurosurgery, neuroradiology, neuropathology, biology, radiotherapy, pediatric neuro-oncology, immunotherapy, late effects, rehabilitation, and nursing. We will also have state-of-the art symposia, interdisciplinary sessions and round tables on the most challenging and timely topics in the field of pediatric neurooncology.
We have planned ISPNO 2022 as a flexible hybrid meeting with live attendance, and the SIOPE BTG as an in-person meeting. We are fully convinced, that these formats will ensure high participation numbers by multidisciplinary health-care professionals and scientists from all over the world.
At the annual meeting of the SIOP-Europe Brain Tumor Group, active members from all disciplines involved in care and research for children with CNS tumors will participate. The meeting will be held at Bucerius Law School, located in walking distance to the venue of ISPNO 2022, the CCH Hamburg.
We are convinced that the entire Neuro-Oncology community is very much looking forward to meeting again in person at this landmark event in science and clinical practice after the compulsory break due to the pandemic. Both meetings will provide excellent opportunities for networking, and the social program is planned in accordance with the rules for the pandemic.
The vibrant, dynamic, and maritime metropolis of Hamburg, the second largest city of Germany, is located in Northern Germany. With its international airport only 20 minutes from the city center, it is easy to approach. The venue of ISPNO 2022, the Congress Center Hamburg (CCH Hamburg), is situated in the heart of the city. The CCH Hamburg will be fully renovated by 2021, and will then be one of the largest and most advanced convention centers in Europe. A range of hotels in walking distance to the CCH Hamburg is available. In addition, the larger regions of Hamburg and Northern Germany offer many touristic attractions, and Berlin can be reached in less than 2 hours by train.
Please register as soon as possible, to take advantage of the early registration rates.
Looking very much forward to seeing you in June 2022 in Hamburg, Germany.
Sincerely,
Director Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) Speaker of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Study Group of GPOH (HIT-Network) |
