2022年第24届亚太风湿病学会联盟(APLAR)年会/大会将于2022年12月6日至9日在中国香港举行，会议由香港风湿病学学会(HKSR)与亚太风湿病学会联盟(APLAR)联合组织。APLAR年会是交流风湿病学领域前沿科学研究和临床信息的重要活动，会议为风湿病学家、内科医生、骨科医生、临床免疫学家、物理学家、物理和职业治疗师、儿科医生和研究人员提供了一个最佳的讨论该地区肌肉骨骼疾病等方面信息的平台。
亚太风湿病学会联盟（APLAR）于1963年在悉尼成立，原是澳大利亚、印度、日本和新西兰四个国家成立的SEAPAL（东南亚和太平洋地区抗风湿病联盟），随着不断的发展，后改名为亚太风湿病协会联盟（APLAR）。APLAR隶属于ILAR（国际风湿病协会联合会）。APLAR由亚洲太平洋地区各国的风湿病学学会组成，现包括30个国家风湿病协会成员，APLAR所覆盖的地理区域从大洋洲的新西兰一直延伸到中东的约旦，通过会员协会代表25,000多名风湿病学家，是亚太地区最具影响力的风湿病学专业机构之一。APLAR致力于在亚太地区宣宣传和促进风湿病学科的发展工作。APLAR出版“APLAR风湿病学”杂志，并每年组织亚太地区最具影响力的风湿病学大会。

Presentation formats
Abstracts can be submitted for either oral or poster presentations.
Oral presentations
Oral presentations will be asked to present an oral presentation at the congress including a PowerPoint presentation and Q&A with the audience.
Poster presentations
Poster presentations will be asked to present a visual poster display and potentially participate in a guided poster tour at the congress.
Abstract submission guidelines
- All submissions must be in English. English is the official congress language and all presentations must also be in English
- Submission titles must not be longer than 20 words and must clearly indicate the nature of the presentation
- Submissions must not exceed 400 words, be clear and concise, highlight relevant aspects, findings and conclusions
- Only standard abbreviations may be used within submissions
- References are not required for submissions
- The abstract title, section headings and references are not included in the overall word count
- Abstracts should follow the following format
- Background/Purpose: background or statement of purpose
- Methods: methods, materials and analytical procedure used
- Results: summary of the results in sufficient detail to support conclusion (we do not recommend including “results will be discussed”)
- Conclusion: conclusions reached
- Tables, graphs and images are permitted within submissions (maximum 2)
- What is an encore presentation?
- An encore presentation is one where you have already presented the submitted work before. For example if you have presented the work at another rheumatology event.
- Does APLAR 2022 accept encore presentations?
- Yes we do accept encore presentations
- Encore presentations are permitted as long as work has been presented after APLAR 2021 (28-31 August 2021)
- Encore presentations are permitted as long as work has not previously been published
- Encore submissions are required to disclose the name and date of the event where it has been presented
- Original abstracts are strongly recommended

All abstract submissions must be received online through the abstract submission portal.
Conditions of acceptance
If accepted into the official program; the following conditions will apply:
- Oral presentations can only be presented by one author
- Presenters must be a listed author on the submission
- Accepted presenters must register, pay and attend the congress, otherwise the abstract will not be included in the official program or published in the IJRD supplement
- Abstract submissions remain the property of APLAR and the Scientific Committee reserves the right to publish and distribute

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
On behalf of The Hong Kong Society of Rheumatology, it is my pleasure to invite all rheumatologists, scientists, academicians, young researchers, allied health professionals and trainees from Asia Pacific region and all over the world to attend the 24th Asia-Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology Congress from 5 – 9 December 2022 in Hong Kong (APLAR 2022 Hong Kong Congress).
Following the successful virtual Congress 2020 and hybrid Congress 2021 that had to adapt due to the pandemic, we hope that by 2022 the situation will have improved sufficiently to enable us to host once again an in-person Congress. Please rest assured that we would be monitoring the situation both in Hong Kong and in the region to protect the health of delegates. We are carefully preparing the event with all our best endeavours to offer an excellent scientific programme as well as a safe, friendly and pleasing environment for inter-personal networking, interaction and the exchange of experience and knowledge.
The Hong Kong Society of Rheumatology is always keen to contribute to both the Asia Pacifica and international Rheumatology community. Since 2010 when we held our first Hong Kong APLAR, we are honored to have the opportunity once again to be the host city of this important meeting. APLAR 2022 Hong Kong Congress will share an insight into the latest research and cutting edge technologies. Our goal is to bring together a multi-disciplinary group of scientists, clinical practitioners and allied health professionals from the region and worldwide to present and exchange break-through exciting ideas relating to Rheumatology.
Hong Kong is a vibrant cosmopolitan city where East meets West, and is easily accessible from all Asia Pacific countries. During the pandemic, Hong Kong has maintained a low level of infection and achieved a relatively high vaccination rate within the region. The city’s collective efforts in minimising the spread of the virus have provided extra reassurances to visitors that they can stay safe and healthy as they explore what Hong Kong has to offer amid the ‘new normal’.
We look forward to welcoming all of you to Hong Kong in 2022.
