2022年第12届欧洲姑息治疗协会世界研究大会

2022年第12届欧洲姑息治疗协会(EAPC)世界研究大会(在线会议)将于2022年5月18-20日举行，届时将为与会者提供极好的机会，与姑息治疗领域的专家会面，介绍和讨论研究成果，就如何改善患者及其家属的治疗和护理提供新思路和新的知识。

欧洲姑息治疗协会(EAPC)于1988年在意大利米兰成立，其宗旨是在整个欧洲及其他地区建立和提高对姑息治疗的认识；在科学、临床和社会层面提高认识并促进姑息治疗的发展和传播；促进姑息治疗的学习、发展和研究；支持宣促进姑息治疗发展的科学教育活动；推广和赞助有关姑息治疗的出版物或期刊；统一国家姑息治疗组织，建立信息和专业知识交流的国际网络；等等。EAPC主办两个大会：EAPC世界大会（平均2500-3000名代表出席），EAPC世界研究大会（平均1000-1300名代表出席）。

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the 12th World Research Congress of the EAPC. The congress, which will be entirely online in May 2022, will offer excellent opportunities to interact with experts in palliative care, to present and discuss research, and to provide new ideas and new knowledge for improving the treatment and care of patients and their families. The Scientific Committee has been planning the scientific programme and we would like to thank the members of the multidisciplinary committee for their hard work and efforts: Kenneth Chambaere, Julia Downing, David Hui, Geana Kurita, Tonje Lundeby, Masanori Mori, Christoph Ostgathe.

The past year and a half has emphasized, more than ever, the need to work together as a community of researchers and clinicians to improve palliative care across the globe. The pandemic has been a humanitarian crisis worldwide, with over 4 million deaths so far. It has exaggerated inequities in palliative care among and within countries, and led to deaths alone and without support from family, friends, and palliative care services. However, it has also forced us as researchers and clinicians to innovate and create new interventions and methods of care. As well, the greater ease of virtual meetings has offered new avenues for international collaborative research and the results of this research are adding to the body of knowledge within palliative care.

Despite the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to switch quickly to an online format, the 2020 EAPC World Research Congress received a large number of high-quality contributions:  1150 abstracts were submitted from 52 countries globally. Each abstract is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers from our Advisory Board comprising many experts from a range of professions and countries. We are grateful to all our colleagues who undertake this important work. As well as our invited speakers, according to the abstract score, all abstracts are then prioritised oral communication sessions,  poster discussion sessions and poster presentations.

Thus, the EAPC research congress is once again the place of meeting for all of us in palliative care research. This congress offers the opportunity to all delegates not only to be acknowledged for their high-quality individual contributions, but also to be enriched through diversity of backgrounds and opinions, and commonality of interests and compassion.

• Access to all live and interactive sessions (18-20 May, 20 May for Paediatric Palliative Care Day attendees)
• Access to all ‘on-demand’ presentations and the exhibition for three months
• Networking features via the virtual meeting platform

Cancellation policy:

All cancellation and amendment requests must be submitted in writing to the conference office by e-mail to [email protected] . Cancellation requests received in writing prior to 28 February 2022 will receive a refund of registration fee after deduction of a 35.00 EUR cancellation fee. No refund will be made after this date, however an alternative participant’s name may be submitted.
