2022年第34届欧洲病理学大会/年会将于2022年9月3-7日在瑞士巴塞尔举行，会议由欧洲病理学会(ESP)主办。

欧洲病理学会（ESP）成立于1964年，是欧洲病理学领域的领导者。作为一个学习型学会，ESP的主要目标是促进高质量的诊断实践、应用和转化研究以及在人类病理学领域的研究生教育。ESP每年主办欧洲最大最具影响力的病理学年会——欧洲病理学大会(ECP)，每年都有来自全球100多个国家的3000余名专业人士与会，共同分享探讨诊断和分子病理学各个方面宣的最新研究进展。与会代表包括病理学家/医生、科研人员、实验室主管、临床医生、技术人员、住院医师、医院管理者、医护人员以及其他相关专业人士代表等等。

Guidelines for submission of abstracts

• A maximum of 5 abstracts per author will be accepted for submission. Additional submissions will not be considered (without further notice).
• Encore abstracts: An abstract which has been previously published cannot be submitted, unless there are new methods, findings, updated data or other acceptable reasons for submitting.
• Abstracts are to be submitted in English, the official language of the 34th ECP, should not exceed 290 words (in total) and be structured in the following specified subtitles: background & objective, methods, results and conclusion. Please stick to the indicated maximum amount of words in each section (40/60/110/80).
• Authors need to select whether they are submitting a Case Report, a Case Report Series or Original Research. Case Reports should also be structured as much as possible following the aforementioned categories. If not possible, the authors should upload the abstracts using the most appropriate categories (in the respective text boxes in the submission form).
• The abstract submission constitutes a formal commitment by the author to present the corresponding presentation in the session and time slot assigned by the Scientific Committee.
• Changes in authorship should be communicated to the Congress and Exhibition Office at [email protected] in order to ensure correct appearance in the printed programme. Changes will be accepted up until the submission deadline (21 April 2022).
  Should the first author, who is considered the presenter, turn out to be unable to present his/her poster or have more than two presentations on one day, one of the coauthors should take over this responsibility. A change of the presenting author needs to be communicated to the Congress and Exhibition Office at [email protected] and will only be processed after acceptance of abstracts. Presenter changes, which are being addressed to the Congress and Exhibition Office before the official acceptance notification, will not be considered.
• Registration and payment to the congress is mandatory to be able to present the abstract and get it published in the abstract book – and must be completed by 28 June 2022. If the speaker fails to register and pay before 28 June 2022, her / his abstract will be excluded from the scientific programme and publication in Virchows Archiv.
• If a delegate has registered upon the condition that her / his abstract is accepted and the abstract is rejected, the registration fee will be refunded. The acceptance of abstracts by the Scientific Committee does not imply any financial assistance or fee reduction.
• Notification of acceptance or rejection by the Scientific Committee will be emailed to the submitting author. Detailed information in which format the abstract is accepted (oral or poster presentation or E-Poster) as well as guidelines and recommendations for each abstract type will be sent shortly after notifications to registered submitting authors.

On behalf of the European Society of Pathology (ESP) and the Swiss Society of Pathology (SGPath) we are pleased to invite you to the 34th European Congress of Pathology (ECP 2022) held from the 3 to 7 September 2022 at the Congress Centre in the middle of the city of Basel, Switzerland.

After two years of virtual congresses, we sincerely hope to finally meet you all in person again in the lovely city of Basel in the Northwestern part of Switzerland. For a few days, Basel will be the centre for the international European pathology, bringing together all stakeholders of pathology including pathologists, clinicians, molecular biologist, geneticists, bioinformaticians, IT experts as well as our partners in the industry.

The motto for the ECP 2022 – The Art of next generation pathology – encompasses the broad range of modern pathology, including next generation technologies as well as the next generation of pathologists but also points to the intuition and passion necessary in pathology as part of the Art of Medicine for the best management and maximal benefit for our patients. As usually, the ESP working groups and affiliated Societies have invested a lot of energy to prepare excellent state-of-the art organ and topic-based sessions, including multiple joint sessions, updating and broadening the scope of organ-based pathology. Special sessions focusing on recent research findings will also be organised jointly with other pathology and clinical scientific societies.

Keynote lectures held by internationally recognised experts, oral free papers, posters as well as sessions organised by our trainees will cover a broad spectrum of topics – from cutting edge scientific developments to more common problems in diagnostic and academic pathology, as well as hot topics like implementation of artificial intelligence into pathology practice.

Basel, generally considered the cultural capital of Switzerland, spans the arc between history and modernity, harboring the first University of Switzerland, founded in 1460, internationally known museums, a charming old town as well as a florid hotspot of biomedical research and industry. At the same time, cozy restaurants and places to stay invite you to spend your time together, cultivate old friendships and make new ones.
